Halong Bay, Vietnam. The name Ha Long means "descending dragon" and according to legend the 1600 towering limestone karsts found at this UNESCO World Heritage Site were formed by the thrashing tail of a dragon (or resulted from the jade jewels spit from the mouths of a family of dragons) sent to protect Vietnam from invaders.
